“This book is to let you see how to overcome those obstacles in life by teaching you what God’s purpose for us is. It teaches you about fear, forgiveness, the favor of God, and how to have a strong faith. We are victors and not victims. The Word of God says that we are more than conquerors and we are victorious.” --Chenika Vauhgn Brown
Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Chenika Vauhgn Brown’s new book shows how all people are victors, not victims.
Within the pages of “Overcomer,” readers will see how Chenika Brown overcame her past by becoming in tune with God. It shows how family, friends, coworkers, and church caused her a great deal of hurt and pain. As a little girl, she experienced the divorce of her parents, which caused her to act out. It was then that her life began to change, and she felt like an outcast. She began acting out in school and having a bad attitude toward people. The once sweet, loving child was transformed into a pain-filled little girl. When she entered high school, things began to get worse for her.
She became a young mother who went through life thinking she was all alone. She thought no one cared about her. She went through broken relationships, which were talked about by many. Everyone said that she would never amount to anything. When she married her current husband, she still wondered why God had not blessed her or fixed her life for her. In 2013, she became a mother of eight when she took in her four nieces and nephews. It was at that point she realized what her purpose in life was.
