McClintock Distilling’s Gin Wins Top Honors at 2018 New York International Spirits Competition
FREDERICK, Md. (PRWEB) May 08, 2018 -- McClintock Distilling won a double gold medal for it’s Reserve Gin at the ninth annual New York International Spirits Competition. The 2018 competition featured spirits from more than 29 countries and 60 categories. More than 600 spirits from around the globe were submitted to the competition and judged in a blind taste test by top industry buyers.
McClintock Distilling was one of only two distilleries worldwide to be awarded double gold for gin. McClintock was also named Maryland Gin Distillery of the Year and was awarded a bronze medal for its Maryland Heritage White Whiskey.
“We knew there would be stiff competition this year and we’re thrilled and humbled to receive this honor and be distinguished among such a diverse and impressive group of spirits,” said Braeden Bumpers, owner of McClintock Distilling.
The Reserve Gin is the first American gin to be aged in used cognac barrels imported from France. It is a limited release spirit from McClintock Distilling that has a soft fruit body and a sweet orange and cinnamon spice finish.
McClintock Distilling also received silver medals for their Reserve Gin, Forager Gin, and Epiphany Vodka at the 2018 San Francisco World Spirits competition. The company also received silver medals for their Vodka and Maryland-Heritage White Whiskey at the American Distilling Institute Judging.
Earlier this year, McClintock Distilling was also distinguished as Maryland’s first and only USDA Certified Organic Distillery. Being organic certified is part of McClintock Distilling’s overall mission to increase sustainability and quality in alcohol production at their facility in downtown Frederick and off-site at the farms where ingredients are sourced.
