Lydia C. Jones Joins Abraxas Business Services
ATLANTA (PRWEB) May 09, 2018 -- Abraxas Business Services, specialists in business brokerage, mergers and acquisitions, and exit strategy and succession planning, is pleased to announce that Lydia C. Jones has joined the firm as Principal.
As a successful business owner and former District Director for the University of Georgia’s Small Business Development Centers (SBDC), Jones brings proven experience in business strategy, executive-level management, and succession planning to the firm. For Abraxas, her initial focus will be the Southeast’s significant manufacturing industry, much of which is composed of businesses with single, or family, ownership.
In her role, first as a consultant for the University of Georgia’s Small Business Development Centers, and then as District Director responsible for metro Atlanta and north Georgia areas, Jones assisted clients with the development and implementation of strategic growth initiatives, corporate compliance, turnaround measures, and succession and exit strategies. Also during her 15-year association with the organization, she helped with the preparation of approximately $100-million in loan and equity packaging.
Prior to Jones’ tenure with the SBDC, she co-owned Liller Neal, Inc., a $20 million, independent marketing and advertising agency with clients in the food, technology, entertainment, and manufacturing industries.
“As a business owner and consultant, Lydia has first-hand knowledge of the many challenges that face small business owners as they grow and then transition their companies," said C. David Chambless, president of Abraxas. “This experience uniquely positions her to help Abraxas clients develop and implement succession and exit strategies. We are very excited that Lydia has joined Abraxas, and look forward to adding her expertise as we grow our presence in the manufacturing industry.”
In addition to consulting responsibilities at the SBDC, Jones developed and presented numerous programs on the topics of succession/exit planning, corporate compliance, and equity/lender financing. Furthermore, in response to a request by a major chemical manufacturer, she presented programs to industry groups in major cities across the United States, including Chicago, Dallas, Sacramento, Philadelphia, and Newark.
Jones earned an MBA at Emory University and additional biographical information can be found at:
