New Historical Fiction Celebrates the Journey and Life of Saint Patrick
ORLANDO, Fla. (PRWEB) May 08, 2018 -- Feeling that the traditions, myths and legends of Saint Patrick were being forgotten by not being taught in Irish schools, author and priest Fachtna Joseph Harte wrote the new novel, “Flames at Twilight: The Novel of St. Patrick and Ireland” (published by Archway Publishing), to celebrate the life of St. Patrick and his mission to bring his religion to Ireland. The book is also available for purchase at: https://www.archwaypublishing.com/Bookstore/BookDetail.aspx?BookId=SKU-001143388.
Intended to be informative, while being at times serious and lighthearted, the historical fiction portrays St. Patrick as a “man of steel who had no fears.” Beginning with his birth in Southern Scotland and teenage years in Wales, “Flames at Twilight” depicts how Maewyn Succat, a Roman officer’s son, was captured as a slave. Later after escaping, Succat became a bishop and was given the name Patrick. After traveling to Ireland to share Christianity, St. Patrick came to love the people there.
Harte hopes his book will give readers “a better knowledge of the kind of man Patrick was and a better insight into how he managed to convert the warring Celts.”
