Naviance by Hobsons Assists Northern Illinois University Education Systems Center in Creating College and Career Readiness Requirements
ARLINGTON, Va. (PRWEB) May 08, 2018 -- The Illinois State Board of Education recently announced the Every Student Succeeds Act State Plan requirements for College and Career Readiness. The ESSA State Plan establishes a multi-factor approach to measuring student readiness upon high school graduation, which all public schools and districts will be required to follow.
Naviance by Hobsons serves more than 40% of high school students in Illinois and supports several of the largest districts in the state, including Chicago Public Schools, Plainfield School District 202, Waukegan Public School District 60, and Township School District 214. Because of this, Northern Illinois University researchers, who were tasked with creating the ESSA State plan, asked Naviance to consult on their efforts.
To assist Illinois schools and districts become compliant to the new state requirements, Naviance by Hobsons will hold an informational webinar, “Illinois ESSA College and Career Readiness Indicator,” on May 11th from 1:00 - 2:00 PM EST. The webinar is in partnership with the Education System Center of Northern Illinois University.
The webinar will provide an overview on how the college and career readiness indicator can be implemented, tracked and measured with Naviance. Best practices will be shared for current Naviance users as well as those looking into using Naviance in their school or district.
