New York-based ad agency The Levinson Tractenberg Group http://ltgny.com captures the essence of these brand pillars in a print and digital marketing campaign that is eye-catching in its simplicity and power. The campaign features dramatic photos representing each of the three core strengths of the Blatt Brand.
The first ad in the three-part series is called “Craftsman” and depicts a seasoned Blatt woodworker in an old-world workshop, intently chiseling away at his latest masterpiece of a pool table. The small headline calling out from where the chisel meets the wood states simply, “3,842 corners crafted. Not one corner cut.” At the bottom sits an image of a pool table, the Blatt logo and the tagline, “There are no shortcuts to greatness”.
“To us, this ad...and the campaign in general...sum up exactly what is so special about the Blatt brand. Their attention to craftsmanship and detail is obsessive. And as a consumer, you may not know exactly what the difference is, but you can feel it. The second ad is titled “Rainforest” and show a lush green rainforest in Costa Rica, with a callout of small copy to a single tree. It poses the question, “Worth going this far for ornamental trim? We think so.” This emphasizes a core strength of the Blatt experience. "Designers and consumers alike know they can come to Blatt with their wildest design ideas, and the team at Blatt will literally scour the global marketplace to find the perfect materials to bring their vision to life," says Joel Levinson, Partner at Levinson Tractenberg.
The third ad focuses on the lengths Blatt’s team of installers have gone to get clients their tables. Based on a true story, it shows a table being parachuted onto a private caribbean island. A callout to the table, small in the sky, say “We go to any lengths to please customers. And sometimes heights.”
The campaign is running in the Robb Report, Architectural Digest, Veranda and Cottages & Gardens. The effort is a pretty radical departure for this traditionally low-key brand.
Explains Brian Roeder, who along with his cousin Jeff Roeder, is the third generation of the family to be involved in company management, “We used to say our quality speaks for itself. And it does. But we wanted to amplify the voice so more people could hear it.”
