Author Randall Pfannenstiel’s Newly Released “Mr. B And Me” Tells the Story of a Troubled Young Man Named Blake Who Meets Charles Beasley
MEADVILLE, Pa. (PRWEB) May 15, 2018 -- “Mr. B And Me”: a story of the ministry between a troubled youth and his mentor. “Mr. B And Me” is the creation of published author, Randall Pfannenstiel. Randy was born in Hays, Kansas, but grew up in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. He graduated from Holy Family High School and Columbia International University. After serving in the United States Navy, he and his wife, Leighann, were missionaries in the Philippines where they raised three boys, Jason, Jacob and Luke. Randy and Leighann now live in a small town in South Carolina.
“Blake’s mind returned to the jail cell. He finished the first chapter of the book he started but had no idea what he read. The church bells ended long ago, and with it, the execution of his father. He laid the book aside and rested his head on a flat pillow. And now Blake knew why he hated the sound of distant church bells and train whistles. He drifted off to sleep.” --Randall Pfannenstiel
Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Randall Pfannenstiel’s new book is a story of pure ministry.
“Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest.” (John 4:35)
The bus stopped perfectly in front of Blake. As the doors folded open, there stood a tall, thin, dark-haired teenager. His jeans hung loosely on his hips, hiding half of his gray sneakers. His red button up, long-sleeved, badly wrinkled shirt lay half tucked inside his pants. Blake’s dark brown baseball cap was pulled down low and his head bent forward, hiding his face. Beasley prepared his hand over the “Closed Door” button as he waited for Blake to enter.
The boy just stood there, silent with his hands buried in his front pants pockets. Beasley waited patiently, not wanting to force the passenger on or off the bus. Finally, the boy pulled a hand from his pocket and reached up to pull a cigarette from his lips. Beasley waited. Blake flicked the cigarette from his fingers and it disappeared into the rocks behind him. He stepped up, unhurried. Blake is a troubled teenager going in a bad direction when an unlikely person comes into his life. Ministry is like that.
