Steel Sports Names Joe Santilli as Director of Baseball
HERMOSA BEACH, Calif. (PRWEB) May 10, 2018 -- Steel Sports has named Joe Santilli its Director of Baseball to oversee activities for the 35,000 youth participants in the company’s baseball programs.
Santilli will focus on an aggressive growth strategy involving business acquisitions, organic growth, partnerships, facilities, leagues, tournaments, teams and camps within the youth baseball market.
He spent the past 13 years with Triple Crown Sports, the first nine as a franchise owner producing elite travel and college baseball events in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin. Since 2014, Santilli was the company’s National Executive Director of Baseball.
“Joe’s extensive industry experience, network and leadership will position him to immediately contribute in expanding our youth baseball footprint nationally,” says David Shapiro, CEO of Steel Sports. “The timing is right as a recent Sports and Fitness Industry Association study cites youth baseball and softball as the nation’s most participated team sports.”
“Playing youth sports helped shape me as a person and it has extraordinary, positive impacts on physical, mental and social development,” says Santilli. “Steel Sports builds good-natured people on and off athletic fields, and I’m excited to expose this culture and mission to millions of parents and kids nationwide.”
Steel Sports is widely respected for improving youth sports experiences and enriching children's lives by emphasizing positive and fun environments while instilling core values of safety, teamwork, respect, integrity and discipline. The company’s current baseball footprint includes Baseball Heaven, a seven-field, all-turf facility on Long Island, New York, Team Steel, a club program consisting of 50+ teams, and the National Youth Baseball Championships, an annual travel event series nationally televised on CBS Sports and MLB.com.
