Farmobile, the independent farm data company, today announced the appointment of two distinguished agricultural leaders, Kip Pendleton and Joan K. Archer, to Farmobile’s team. Kip Pendleton, president of the Pendleton Group in St. Paul, MN, will serve as an Outside Director on Farmobile’s Board of Directors. Joan K. Archer, former partner at Husch and Blackwell, Kansas City, MO, now serves as the company’s General Counsel.

These leaders join at a time when the company has more agricultural data and interest from data buyers than ever before.

“We are excited and honored to add these two professionals to Farmobile. The breadth, depth and diversity of their experience will aid Farmobile’s pursuit of its core mission — to build foundational technology for the future of agriculture that empowers farmers to collect, share and monetize their digital assets. Farmobile has paid farmers over $500,000 for complete Electronic Field Records (EFRs) in 2018. These newly created dollars have a direct impact on their farming operations, families and rural communities,” said Jason Tatge, CEO of Farmobile.

Kip Pendleton has been a builder of value over his career as architect, engineer and implementer of agricultural change. At the helm of The Pendleton Group, he serves as thought leader, coach and strategic consultant for numerous U.S. and global AgTech and agribusiness companies. He spent 18 years in life sciences in the seed industry and has led information and insight companies as president and CEO of DTN, Minneapolis, MN; senior vice president and general manager of agriculture for Hemisphere GPS, Calgary, Alberta; president and Co-CEO of the Agristar Global Networks, Ltd., Chicago, IL and was founder, president and CEO of DirectAg.com, Inc. He served as an Outside Director on the Board of Spensa Technologies prior to their purchase by DTN.

Joan Archer’s legal accomplishments in food and agribusiness, including intellectual property counseling, data privacy and litigation, are well-recognized. Prior to joining Farmobile she served as partner and senior counsel for Husch Blackwell and represented Farmobile in all litigation matters, including the claims brought by Farmers Edge that recently were dismissed by the judge. She has repeatedly been recognized by Super Lawyers in the area of intellectual property litigation and has been named one of the top 50 female attorneys in Kansas and Missouri and top 100 attorneys in the Kansas City metropolitan area. She has handled numerous business and intellectual property litigation matters including those involving substantial computer software and internet-related issues. Joan is involved in a leadership role with the American Bar Association’s Section of Litigation. A tireless advocate for farmers’ data rights, Joan is a frequent speaker at AgTech conferences.

“We welcome Kip and Joan to the team,” added Tatge. “Each has a strong reputation in their respective agribusiness and legal sectors for collaborative leadership, a passion for farmers and a dedication to excellence and entrepreneurial innovation.”

About Farmobile

Farmobile is the independent farm data company. We build the foundational technology for the future of agriculture. We create new opportunities for farmers to get more out of their data.

Ag data didn’t have a standard, so we built one. Our technology collects second-by-second data points across mixed fleets and turns them into Electronic Field Records (EFRs) that make it easy to gain insights, share with advisors, and power decision-making on the farm.

We believe data is among the most valuable commodities a farm produces. The Farmobile Data Store is the first and largest secure digital marketplace to connect farmers with data buyers. Farmobile believes that farmers own their data outright. We are proudly based in Leawood, Kansas, in the heart of the Midwest.
