R.A. Murphy and Lauren Murphy’s New Book “The Visit” is the Candid Autobiography of a Tough Irish Kid Who Made his Way by the Grace of God in Mafia-controlled Cleveland
WICKLIFFE, Ohio. (PRWEB) May 16, 2018 -- R.A. Murphy is a successful small business owner of fifty-one years, former conservative talk show radio host, State Central Committeeman for the state of Ohio of the twenty-fifth senatorial district living in the Cleveland metro area with his wife of forty-six years who stuck by his side. His daughter, Lauren Murphy, Ph.D., is an experimental psychologist, wife, and proud mother of two. Together they have completed their book “The Visit”: a riveting window into the life of an Irish-American street fighter whose spiritual rebirth has led him to use his wisdom, understanding, and experience to help others.
Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, R.A. Murphy and Lauren Murphy’s book is a gripping and potent memoir of postwar Cleveland and the ethnic divisions that shaped the city.
This is a story based on real life events about the life of a onetime Cleveland Irish bouncer who fought the Cleveland mob. Born and put into an orphanage, Bob Murphy grew up in the Cleveland metro area in the 1950’s, 1960’s and 1970's, when the city was controlled by the Mafia and was greatly divided ethnically. At seven years old, he learned that he was adopted, a truth which haunted him until he found his real family. A tough street fighter, he worked as a bouncer for the Mafia-owned night clubs, fought in union wars, was a body guard for top-ranking union officials and was the leader of the Northside Irish Gang. He found himself in some deadly situations but miraculously always came out unscathed, as though he was protected by God. Bob was born again after a visit from Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. After the visit, he had an epiphany from God to join the fight against abortion and to do so he became heavily involved in politics. Incredibly, he found some politicians to be just as deadly and corrupt as the Mafia. He often found himself in situations in which God would use him to give messages to people who were troubled, looking for answers, or needed help making an important decision; a proof that God uses all types of people for his purpose.
