While we’re still only scratching the surface of how the blockchain technology can benefit advertisers, publishers and agencies alike, we know it starts with collaboration from all.
CHICAGO (PRWEB) May 10, 2018
In their ongoing support of blockchain technology and its ability to revolutionize the digital media industry, DoGood Media announces the appointment of their CEO and Co-Founder Jerome Shimizu to I-COM’s Data Science Blockchain and Advanced Research Subcommittee. As a member of this global council, Shimizu joins a group of respected names in digital advertising from both buy-side and sell-side, as well as leaders in marketing science and analytics — all of whom are committed to creating a scalable, transparent and efficient blockchain paradigm.
I-COM is widely accepted as the leading global forum for marketing data and measurement. The Data Science Blockchain and Advanced Research Subcommittee falls within the framework of the I-COM Data Science Programme, which launched in August 2017. The subcommittee brings together a team of subject matter experts with great knowledge of blockchain and its specific application in the online advertising industry, with a vision to educate and advise leaders and practitioners of the ecosystem.
The Subcommittee co-chair and Managing Director, DMP of Sizmek (US), Joshua Koran said, regarding some of the benefits of the blockchain technology, that it “can be applied at the workflow level (similar to IAB ads.txt providing transparency around which vendors are authorized to sell a given publisher’s inventory), at the transaction level (to combat fraud), and at the payment level (like Bitcoin and BAT).”
On his involvement in I-COM, Shimizu says, “this is a critical time for the future of digital advertising and while we’re still only scratching the surface of how the blockchain technology can benefit advertisers, publishers and agencies alike, we know it starts with collaboration from all.” Together with fellow committee members, Shimizu is passionate about using blockchain to tackle the current challenges of transparency, autonomy and authenticity.
