He is a widely-respected authority in sports medicine and rehabilitation, and is best known for founding and building STAR Physical Therapy in New York City, and for his previous role as Director of the Nicholas Institute of Sports Medicine and Athletic Trauma (NISMAT) program at Lenox Hill Hospital, as well as Chief of Clinical Services at Motion PT Group. In addition, Gelfand is an esteemed international speaker, educator, and contributing author to many scholarly articles and publications.
