UJUC Rabbi Jennifer Rudin Forms New Jewish Community in MetroWest Boston
BOSTON (PRWEB) May 15, 2018 -- Rabbi Jennifer Rudin, founder of Simcha Services of Holliston, MA., has formed a new Jewish Community in MetroWest Boston. Rabbi Rudin explains that she and the New Jewish Community are committed to the unique celebration of Jewish life. Rabbi Rudin’s vision for the community includes asking people to “[i]magine a Jewish Community that invites you to define your Judaism, that honors each person’s unique religious practices, and fully embraces interfaith families.” Rabbi Rudin explains that the community is committed to a fully supporting its members on their personal jewish journey. Rabbi Steven Blane, a UJUC founder, "Rabbi Rudin's vision for her community meshes with the tenets of Jewish Universalism as espoused by the Union of Jewish Universalist Communities.
On May 5th, the New Jewish Community hosted “Dinner, Eureka Game Night & Havdalah Night”. More than 50 people gathered to enjoy and share a shabbat meal, explore their hopes and dreams for this new Jewish Community and engage in a spirited Havdalah ceremony.
Rabbi Rudin was ordained by the Jewish Spiritual Leadership Institute (“JSLI”) in July of 2017 and is a member of Union for Jewish Universalist Congregations (“UJUC”).
In the year since her ordination, Rabbi Rudin has officiated at numerous B’nai Mitzvah services, weddings, Baby Naming ceremonies, Funerals, Shiva services, and Holiday and Shabbat celebrations.
In addition to her many duties at Simcha Services, Rabbi Rudin also serves as the Director of Curriculum and Professional Development for the “Jewish Community of Greater Stowe” (Vermont) where she mentors teachers and is working to transform the way Hebrew School is taught.
The UJUC is a group of progressively minded rabbis and their communities who welcome participants from all walks of life. The Union seeks to nurture the greater good by emphasizing compassion and love for all humankind through the lens of Jewish history, liturgy, rituals, traditional texts, and holidays.
