Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area job seekers and entrepreneurs wanting to fast track their career path will have an opportunity to work directly with local career coaches beginning in June.
"Career Reboot Camps" will be offered on Saturday, June 9 and Saturday, July 14 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Jerry’s Foods in Woodbury. Career Reboot Camp workshops provide live coaching and tools focused on essential career elements including resumes, interviewing, personal branding, and networking skills.
The workshops are being sponsored by The White Box Club™, a Twin Cities Meetup group that provides encouragement, resources, and networking opportunities to anyone laid off or in career transition. The Meetup was founded by local Twin Cities author and life transition coach Michael Thomas Sunnarborg, and has grown its membership to nearly 700 members. Regular meetings are offered weekly in east and west metro locations.
“Career transitions are major life events for anyone, especially if they’ve been given the ‘white box’ treatment—told to pack up their things in a box and leave the premises,” says Sunnarborg, who started the group after he was laid off from his job in 2015. “Providing quality support for career transitions is essential in today's rapidly changing job market. Offering these accelerated workshops gives job seekers and budding entrepreneurs the knowledge and tools they need to be successful.”
The Career Reboot Camp on June 9 will offer four topic sessions tailored specifically for traditional job seekers. On July 14, the topics will focus on independent consultants and entrepreneurs. Due to limited class size, early registration is encouraged.
