Marcy Dobrow’s New Book “Through the Looking Glass: School from the Inside Out” is an Autobiographical Commentary on Education Throughout the Span of Forty-Three Years
CARMICHAEL, Calif. (PRWEB) May 15, 2018 -- Marcy Dobrow, Ed. D., an author with forty-five years of experience in education, has completed her new book “Through the Looking Glass: School from the Inside Out”: a highly informative discussion on aspects pertaining to changing American society, the education profession, and some effects of these changes.
Author Dobrow tackles the innovations necessary to improve the status of teaching programs and its relationship with influencing society and vice versa: “I learned that common sense isn’t common. One day, police reported an armed suspect running toward campus. Schools have procedures in place to face these very unfortunate events. After locking down the classrooms and the gates to the school, I talked with the custodian. I described his role in the situation and recommended that he use common sense after that. He told me that his common sense told him to run home. Luckily, we were never put to the test.” Later, “I also initiated and instituted a Classroom Disaster Plan. None already existed, even though the school was located along the San Andreas Fault line.”
Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Marcy Dobrow’s perceptive account follows the evolution of teaching protocol and styles for more than forty years. Intended for educators, parents, and policy makers, this book offers an enlightening side that can help in bettering education.
