MIAMI REALTORS CEO Named to South Florida’s Most Influential Business Women
MIAMI (PRWEB) May 14, 2018 -- MIAMI Association of REALTORS® (MIAMI) Chief Executive Officer Teresa King Kinney was named one of the top 25 Most Influential Business Women in South Florida. The South Florida Business Journal honored Kinney’s strong record of leadership, community involvement and industry innovation at an event on May 11 in Fort Lauderdale.
Kinney has led the nation’s largest local Realtor association for 25 years, playing an integral role in making Miami a top real estate market for both domestic and international investment.
“At the MIAMI Association of REALTORS®, we stand on the shoulders of giants who have led our association for the past 98 years,” Kinney said. “Everything we do, from our exclusive member services to our 4,000 real estate classes to our 179 international partnerships, is to help our members and the South Florida buying and selling public.”
Kinney came to Miami from St. Joseph, Missouri, where she had been CEO for the Realtor association for many years. When Kinney began with MIAMI in August 16, 1993, the board had just 5,000 members. Over the past 25 years, Kinney would lead the association to unprecedented growth. Today, the MIAMI board has more than 46,000 members in four counties (Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Martin).
Under Kinney’s leadership, MIAMI launched landmark and innovative global partnerships, brought an unparalleled number of new and exclusive Realtor products and services to its members and merged with several local boards. MIAMI’s first merger under Kinney was in 1997 when the association merged with the Miami Beach association, followed by mergers in 2010 and 2015.
Kinney led MIAMI to enormous international success, helping Miami become the international brand it is today. Kinney has helped MIAMI sign a record 179 international partnerships with real estate organizations around the world.
These landmark international partnerships facilitate business opportunities for MIAMI members, enhance Miami’s global position, strengthen the local real estate market and economy, and create additional visibility for the association’s international partners. MIAMI is the only local real estate association in the world to achieve this feat.
MIAMI was the first local Realtor association to sign international agreements and has the most of any U.S. Realtor association.
The Association launched its award-winning International Real Estate Council and Annual International Real Estate Congress in 1996, creating the largest and most successful local council in the United States. Shortly thereafter, MIAMI published the highly regarded Foreign Investors Guide, which features articles in six languages.
Kinney and MIAMI have hosted more than 60 inbound trade missions from real estate delegations worldwide, including presenting seminars, briefings, real estate office tours, property tours, receptions, and opportunities to do business. Kinney has promoted the South Florida market at more than 100 national and international conferences and expos, resulting in increased market visibility, media exposure, Internet traffic and business opportunities.
Kinney has presented a myriad leadership and professional development seminars at state, national and international association meetings and public venues across the U.S., Latin America, Europe, and Asia and has written a number of articles on association management and leadership.
