The goal of Lions Clubs International is to reach out to veterans and offer them the opportunity to become part of our organization and give back to their communities. “Additionally Lions will be paying special tribute to and honoring all Veterans and particularly those heroes who made the supreme sacrifice by giving their lives for their country.”

Many of the Lions in the parade are veterans who have served their country honorably and are today still committed to serving their communities through volunteerism, service and education especially for sight and hearing issues. Lion veterans can be identified by the Red, White and Blue Patriotic Sashes they will be wearing.

The Lions Club’s float will proudly display the Lions theme for this year, "The Power of We" alongside the marching Lions. Scheduled to be on the float are Past International President Clem Kusiak and Past International President Sid Scruggs along with Lion Leaders and distinguished veteran Lions who continue to serve their communities in many ways. The Guest Celebrities on the Float this year are scheduled to be the current “Miss America” and radio personality Joe Morgan aka “Black Eagle”.
