Axon Global & CDI Join Forces for Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games

Axon Global Services and the Cyber Defense Institute of Japan, join forces to prepare the country of Japan for the potential cybersecurity risks associated with the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The announcement was made at the 29th U.S.-Japan Technology Forum at the Vanderbilt University’s U.S.-Japan Center which is led by Dr. James E. Auer of the James E. Auer US-Japan Center, and Mr. Hidehiro Konno, Mitsubishi Corporation.

Israel Martinez, CEO of Axon Global Services (Axon) and Mr. Toshio Nawa, Executive Director of Japan’s Cyber Defense Institute (CDI), a wholly owned subsidiary of NEC Corporation, announce their contracted partnership in providing cyber threat intelligence; risk; governance; strategy and innovation to Japanese leadership in government and the private sector, as the country of Japan prepares for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

The announcement was made at the 29th U.S.-Japan Technology Forum at the Vanderbilt University’s U.S.-Japan Center, which is led by Dr. James E. Auer of the James E. Auer US-Japan Center, and Mr. Hidehiro Konno, Mitsubishi Corporation. Both Nawa-san and Martinez-san were distinguished speakers outlining the cybersecurity risk landscape and inter-country approaches to mitigate risk. Both are recognized globally, as experts in cyber counter-intelligence and intercountry rapid application of threat information between Japan and U.S. Department of Homeland Security computer emergency response teams (JP CERT and DHS), as well via other agreements between multiple U.S. and Japanese allied countries. Supporting these international initiatives were Lauri Korts-Pärn, CTO of CDI and Mr. Andrew Schroth, Director of Business Intelligence for Axon.

Nawa-san stated, “Axon is bringing CDI cyber threat intelligence and unprecedented capabilities by leveraging non-traditional methods such as the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Boardroom Intelligence, Cyber Enterprise Risk Management and Proactive Defense © - with discrete and exclusive partners in R&D. CDI will in turn empower its customers with new information and methods in cyber defense and cyber risk management”. All were dinner guests at the Consul General of Japan in Nashville, TN, where Mr. Martinez stated, “we are proud of our initiative in Japan, working with the absolute best in the cyber security business in Mr. Toshi Nawa at CDI. We look forward to a challenging but successful journey as we prepare the Japanese leadership for the potential cyber risks associated with the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games”.
