Scale Computing to Demo New NVMe with Cinder Plugin at OpenStack Summit
INDIANAPOLIS (PRWEB) May 17, 2018 -- Scale Computing, a market leader in hyperconverged solutions, today announced it is presenting and exhibiting at OpenStack Summit next week in Vancouver. The event is taking place at the Vancouver Convention Centre - West Building May 21-24, 2018 and Scale Computing will be at booth #C12.
Phil White, CTO at Scale Computing, will be demonstrating the company’s NVMe optimized edge solution with Cinder plugin on Tuesday, May 22, from 11:50 am -12:10 pm. The demo will showcase how Scale Computing’s Cinder integration greatly improves performance by offering the fastest storage available today on OpenStack. Lab tests on the solution have achieved mean IO latencies as low as 20 microseconds delivered to a guest virtual machine. The unique architecture of Scale Computing’s software-defined storage engine (SCRIBE) coupled with highly responsive NVMe drives enables this extraordinary performance.
White will also illustrate an OpenStack edge computing implementation for organizations. He will explain how users could manage their HC3 cluster on the edge with centralized OpenStack deployment by scheduling VMs to run on the edge cluster powered by HC3.
“Cinder is a key OpenStack component for helping users access storage resources quickly and conveniently,” said Phil White, chief technology officer at Scale Computing. “This new Scale Computing plugin takes Cinder storage to the next level, offering users high performance storage capabilities for their data intensive and legacy workloads.”
With the low latency of SCRIBE, Scale Computing’s HyperCore-Direct is an NVMe optimized hyperconverged solution for data intensive environments and customized hardware and network configurations.
In addition, Jason Collier, co-founder at Scale Computing, will host a presentation on Thursday, May 24 from 11:00 am - 11:40 am. The presentation will showcase how edge solutions is transforming the reach and purpose of cloud computing by processing data at the edge of the network where information is generated. Utilizing this model, Scale Computing is dramatically improving performance and latency, while taking advantage of real-time changes, making it ideal for applications at the edge.

About Scale Computing
Scale Computing integrates storage, servers and virtualization software into an all-in-one appliance-based system that is scalable, self-healing, and as easy to manage as a single server. Using industry standard components, the HC3 appliances install in under an hour and can be expanded and upgraded with no downtime. High availability insulates the user from any disk or server failure and a unified management capability driven by the patented HyperCore Software™, efficiently integrates all functionality. The result is a data center solution that reduces operational complexity, allows a faster response to business issues, and dramatically reduces costs.
