Arizona Federal Credit Union Holds Avondale Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, Makes Scholarship Donation
AVONDALE, Ariz. (PRWEB) May 17, 2018 -- Arizona Federal Credit Union, a locally-based financial cooperative, marked the official opening of its newest Valley location with a ribbon cutting ceremony and scholarship donation on Tuesday, May 15, in Avondale.
“Arizona Federal is excited to be able to give West Valley residents an opportunity to experience the credit union difference, and we’re committed to contributing to the well-being of the West Valley,” said Michele Duron Valdovinos, director of business and community development. “We will be partnering with the City of Avondale, Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Southwest Valley Chamber of Commerce, and other local civic leaders to make an impact in the West Valley.”
During the ceremony, the credit union made a donation to the Hispanic Leaders Forum, which will go toward college scholarships for West Valley students, many of whom attend Estrella Mountain Community College.
Dr. Ernie Lara, president of Estrella Mountain Community College, and Lorenzo Sierra, Hispanic Leadership Forum Board Member, accepted the donation.
The branch is located at 13085 W. McDowell Road on the southeast corner of Dysart Road and McDowell in the Fry’s shopping center. The branch features a full-service lobby and two walk-up ATMs. Hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
To open an account at the credit union you must live, work, worship or attend school in Maricopa County, Pinal County or within Tucson city limits – or have an immediate family/household member who is a current primary member.
