The event will deliver impressive keynotes, evidence-based educational sessions, research posters, and ample networking activities.

Speakers and workshops will focus on the clinical practice of lifestyle in medicine, and examples that back the growing evidence that Lifestyle Medicine can redefine and transform health care.

“Putting health back into health care is our mission, with a lifestyle medicine-first approach,” said ACLM President George Guthrie, MD, MPH, FACLM. “Our goal as health care professionals should be to decrease the demand for health care. Lifestyle medicine is the key to that, and this conference is the convergence of the people, the science and the tools to create this paradigm change that represents real health care reform.”

“This year’s keynote speakers will highlight the power of Lifestyle Medicine to lower costs, improve outcomes and enhance well-being—all the goal of health care reform—by treating the cause of chronic disease,” said Planning Committee Chair Sal Lacagnina, DO, System Medical Director of Wellness and Employee Health for Lee Health. “We’ll also feature exceptional presentations about how to make lifestyle medicine a feasible and practical clinical business model, as well as update attendees about the latest scientific evidence. We’ll also have time for physical activity, enjoy wonderful plant-based food, and be re-invigorated as a community to the reason we all wanted to be in health care in the first place.”

Poster presentations will be showcased as part of the conference.

About the American College of Lifestyle Medicine: ACLM is the professional medical association for those dedicated to the advancement and clinical practice of Lifestyle Medicine as the foundation of a transformed and sustainable health care system. Lifestyle Medicine involves the use of evidence-based lifestyle therapeutic approaches, such as a predominantly whole food, plant-based diet, regular physical activity, adequate sleep, stress management, avoidance of risky substance use, and other non-drug modalities, to prevent, treat, and, oftentimes, reverse the lifestyle-related, chronic disease that's all too prevalent.

More than a professional association, ACLM is a galvanizing force for change. ACLM addresses the need for quality education and certification, supporting its members in their individual practices and in their collective desire to domestically and globally promote Lifestyle Medicine as the first treatment option, as opposed to a first option of treating symptoms and consequences with expensive, ever increasing quantities of pills and procedures. ACLM members are united in their desire to identify and eradicate the cause of disease. Join today at http://www.LifestyleMedicine.org/
