Venus Williams was the first African American to rank No. 1 as a professional tennis player in either the men's or women's game, and she has won multiple Olympic gold medals and nearly 20 career titles. Ms. Williams is also the founder and CEO of two companies: a clothing line called EleVen and an interior design firm called V Starr Interiors. In June 2010, Ms. Williams released a best-selling book, "Come to Win," that featured insight from a number of successful men and women across multiple professions.
To discuss healthcare, politics and elections, former Governor of Vermont Howard Dean, MD, and 107th Mayor of New York City Rudy Giuliani will engage in a keynote question and answer session led by Becker's Hospital Review Editor-in-Chief Molly Gamble.
Dr. Dean was a candidate in the 2004 presidential election and then went on to serve as chairman of the Democratic National Committee from 2005 to 2009. Dr. Dean now works as independent consultant for public policy and government affairs in the private sector and contributes to the current political environment as a political commentator.
Mr. Giuliani served the two-term maximum as mayor of New York City from 1994 to 2001 and then went on to found Giuliani Partners in 2002. As mayor, he implemented the largest and most successful welfare-to-work initiative in the country, in which he reduced welfare rolls nearly 60 percent. In 2008, Mr. Giuliani ran for the Republican nomination for President of the U.S., and he now serves on President Donald Trump's legal team.
