Dr. Barchi has also served as senior vice president and CIO for Carilion Health System in Roanoke, Va., where he oversaw operations and technology for the eight-hospital academic medical center. Ed Marx joined Cleveland Clinic — which was ranked No. 2 by U.S. News and World Report in for 2017-18 — in September 2017 as CIO. Mr. Marx was named CIO of the Year in 2013 by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, and he was part of a team that won the HIMSS Nicholas E.
