Blue Pillar Joins the NYSERDA Real Time Energy Management Program as a Qualified System Provider
FREDERICK, Md. (PRWEB) May 22, 2018 -- – Blue Pillar, the leading Internet of Things (IoT) provider to connect Energy Things®, today announced its acceptance as a Qualified Vendor for Real Time Energy Management (RTEM) by NYSERDA, the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, which promotes energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources. As a qualified system provider, Blue Pillar’s Energy IoT solutions are now available to organizations partnering with NYSERDA to create greater energy efficiency, resiliency and clean energy solutions for the future.
As part of their Commercial RTEM Program, NYSERDA prequalifies vendors such as Blue Pillar, who can help commercial customers analyze energy usage data and provide, enable, and/or implement actionable items on the basis of the data. Blue Pillar’s Aurora® Energy Network of Things® platform provides real-time energy data that is currently helping to keep major C&I energy systems within NYSERDA’s operating region online with greater resiliency and energy efficiency, while giving them the ability to participate in load-shedding and Demand Response programs.
“Being recognized as a qualified system provider by NYSERDA will enable the greater use of Energy IoT solutions in the New York region. Without IoT, real-time energy information that is instrumental to the success of businesses remains trapped inside siloed energy systems and must be manually obtained through expensive truck rolls or time-consuming facility walk-throughs,” notes Tom Willie, CEO of Blue Pillar. “Blue Pillar’s Aurora Energy Network of Things platform automates manual processes with universal connectivity and control of all emergency power and energy assets while providing real-time data, which allows for more efficient energy management and greater cost savings.”
Aurora’s greatest competitive advantage has been its ability to utilize a cloud-based and/or local network approach to connecting any Distributed Energy Resource (DER) or legacy asset that generates, stores, consumes, switches or measures electricity. These devices include chillers, HVAC, boilers, meters (water, gas and electric), generators (diesel and gas), energy storage, solar panels, fuel cells, combined heat and power (CHP) systems, Building Automation Systems, fuel cells and any other energy equipment found behind-the-meter.
Additionally, the Blue Pillar system has been instrumental in helping critical and complex C&I facilities, including Tier 1 universities and hospitals in New York and North America, fully automate their sub-metering infrastructure, manage backup power, centralize the management of multiple facilities in diverse locations, and enable microgrids that rely on both legacy and next-gen energy assets.
Businesses interested in partnering with Blue Pillar through NYSERDA can visit the NYSERDA Find-A-Contractor portal at https://www.nyserda.ny.gov/Contractors/Find-a-Contractor and select the Real Time Energy Management link on the page to take advantage of NYSERDA’s cost-share incentives for RTEM projects.
