Skyline Art Roars Into Second Place With Dragon Design Art Car
HOUSTON (PRWEB) May 21, 2018 -- The creative staff of Skyline Art roared down the street on April 14 to a prestigious second place finish at the 31st Annual Houston Art Car Parade, the largest gathering of its kind in the world. It was Skyline Art's first showing at one of Houston’s most beloved annual events, and their colorful Quetzalcoatl dragon took flight complete with over 150 handcrafted feathers, a mechanical opening mouth filled with three-foot-long sharp fangs, and smoke from its fire-breathing nostrils!
A team of more than a dozen employees were solidly committed to its design and production over three months of long nights and weekends, but Quetzalcoatl soared beyond their expectations.
Quetzalcoatl is the feathered serpent deity recognized by many Mesoamerican indigenous peoples, most especially the Aztec. He is associated with wind, learning, knowledge, and arts and crafts, which made him the perfect symbol to honor in Skyline Art’s latest and greatest motorized creation!
The art car’s design originated with Dani Arce who won an internal competition among Skyline Art’s staff. Dani says, “After the release of the film ‘Coco,’ I was really inspired to make something as bright and colorful as the mystical creatures that were drawn from Mexican folklore, which is part of my own proud heritage.”
As an EDAC advocate firm, Skyline Art is dedicated to using the power of art for the greater good.
