Regulatory Expert Certrec Presents Just-in-Time Video Concept at the 2018 IAEA Third International Conference, May 29th
FORT WORTH, Texas (PRWEB) May 23, 2018 -- Certrec, a leading licensing and regulatory compliance provider for NRC and NERC compliance, announced today its participation in IAEA’s Third International Conference on Human Resource Development for Nuclear Power Programme. The conference will be held in Gyeongju, Republic of Korea from May 28–31, 2018.
Certrec’s Tom Braudt and Chip Perkins developed the white paper, "Leveraging Modern Media for Rapid Nuclear Knowledge Access," which they will present at the conference. The white paper was developed to meet the conference’s theme “Meeting Challenges to Ensure the Future Nuclear Workforce Capability.”
“We described the on-going, world-wide retirement wave in nuclear power,” Braudt said. “There have been attempts by industry and academia to address the issue, but none have directly addressed the need to rapidly convey high-level, contextual knowledge to the next generation of the nuclear workforce.”
In the past, researching nuclear information was a manual process involving file folders and file cabinets. In 1989, Certrec began converting documents to electronic format and over the years has provided this information to clients through a web-based tool organized in the same manner. In 2017, Certrec developed the idea of “Just-in-Time” videos with the creation of CertrecTV. This innovative tool was created to effectively convey contextual knowledge in a medium familiar to younger generations. Braudt and Perkins will present the “Just-in-Time” video library concept as a viable tool for transferring knowledge in the nuclear industry.
“Our primary intent is to present the concept, capabilities, and promise of CertrecTV to a worldwide audience,” Perkins said. “We know that many international nuclear organizations follow the US nuclear industry with great interest, and we expect that interest will be further piqued by CertrecTV.”
“We’re excited to have the opportunity to introduce this new way of sharing information and knowledge at the IAEA Third International Conference. Bringing new and innovative concepts to our customers to help them manage the regulatory process to their advantage continues to be one of Certrec’s core focuses,” says Ted Enos, Certrec President.
Just because we have done something a certain way for many years, doesn’t mean it is the only way. With newer generations, it is easier to see things outside the box.
