Texas Attorney Linda Turley Files Suit in Wrongful Death of Construction Worker
DALLAS (PRWEB) May 24, 2018 -- Attorney Linda Turley, of Turley Law Firm, recently filed a wrongful death lawsuit in the District Court of Dallas County, Texas, 160th Judicial District (Case No. DC-18-06608). Xavier Henry died after allegedly being electrocuted while working on a three story structure in Dallas.
According to court documents, the construction worker was allegedly killed after coming into contact with an overhead power line outside the Lizard Lounge (defendant) nightclub. Court documents further state that Henry was left hanging above ground for several hours while the power was cut off.
Court documents allege that each defendant in the case ignored its duties under Texas Law to warn Henry of the condition, to contact the utility for lockout of the high voltage line, and to provide a safe workplace, jeopardizing the safety of Henry and others.
Each of the defendants’ alleged negligent acts and/or omissions, according to court documents, were singularly and in combination a proximate cause of Henry’s death.
Turley concluded, “Construction work is one of the most dangerous occupations in the U.S., with electrocution as one the primary hazards faced by construction workers every day.”
