Created and founded by Chicago native, lawyer Lauren Glennon, the LawCo app provides Chicagoland lawyers a new method of generating business leads. It also provides those in need of legal assistance access to qualified lawyers in a simple, streamlined way.
The concept for this app was born from a realization Lauren had while representing a client on a traffic ticket. While standing in the lobby of the Markham courthouse after her client’s hearing, Lauren noticed that there were so many unrepresented people staring at her - they looked confused and in need of help from a qualified lawyer. Because of ethics rules in Illinois, she was prevented from approaching any of these people and asking them if they needed assistance. Lauren knew many of them would benefit, the way her client had, from having a lawyer standing by them in court. This sparked the question: Is there an efficient way to connect a person in real time in need with a lawyer who could help them instantly.
After researching the question thoroughly, Lauren discovered that the answer was “no.” There was no way for individuals to obtain legal representation the day of, in real time, via an app.
After several years of both government and private practice, as well as her own personal experiences, Lauren saw the potential to help those who cannot help themselves, as well as giving lawyers new leads. And, it was from these insights that the LawCo mobile app was created.
LawCo works simply from both the user side and the lawyer side: To connect with a lawyer, app users download the app, register, enter their court date and courthouse, select their case type, and click submit. They will then be connected to an available lawyer in as little as 15 minutes. For app users there is also an option to contact a lawyer for general legal advice, using the same criteria; case type and location.
From the other side, lawyers create an account that is then verified with the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission. Once this process is complete, the lawyers can create filters to designate their availability and preferences. The LawCo app will send lawyers with lead alerts when a request for legal help is made. Upon accepting a lead, the lawyer will be prompted to check out and pay for the lead. After which lawyers can message app users within the LawCo app. LawCo provides lawyers (and app users) with an email transcript of all messages.
LawCo is committed to helping people in Cook County obtain the legal representation they need and deserve. It is likewise committed to helping lawyers grow their practices and create new revenue streams with three clicks to connect. LawCo provides a lawyer flexibility, mobility and new lead generation at their fingertips. LawCo is a woman and veteran owned and operated company. Lauren Glennon is a lifelong Chicagoan, with a distinguished record of legal and public service. The daughter of a Chicago Police officer (deceased), and the wife of a Chicago firefighter and Navy veteran, she is dedicated to giving back in a way which substantially helps those in need.
