First-Time Author’s Inspirational Story of Triumph and Resilience Achieves Critical Acclaim and a 2018 Book Award
MONROE, N.C. (PRWEB) May 30, 2018 -- In the winner of the 2018 Christian Indie Award for Christian Living, "Pizza With Jesus (No Black Olives): Finding Hope and Grace Amid Hardship & Grief," author P.J. Frick offers levity and sensitivity while addressing issues that no one wants to talk about - disease, loss, and death. This inspirational memoir encourages hope on a topic that begets ignorance and provides comfort for those facing dark and difficult times.
This book delivers a message of hope that there is life on the other side of grief, no matter how dark and lonesome it feels along the way. “Pizza With Jesus” is a must-have resource for anyone going through any significant life traumas and/or loss. In particular, it offers comfort to the 65 million caregivers struggling to make peace with their new and uncertain role – along with the overwhelming fear and countless emotions that accompany it.
Frick’s gentle and lyrical tone strikes a chord of resilience and hope with every page of her faith journey. Even when describing dark times of doubt and despair, Frick acknowledges and even celebrates the good things that come of even the darkest situations. Comparing herself at one point to a lost dog, Frick insists that God was beside her the whole time…waiting for her to come to Him on her own when she was ready – by her choice – when she trusted Him.
Through a delicate balance of humorous anecdotes, tender memories and frank honesty, Frick weaves a story of very personal and seemingly hopeless times of cumulative traumas – and the hope that arises from even the most traumatic of times. Frick deals gracefully with the reality that every single one of us will suffer (or have suffered) tragedy, loss, adversity, and grief at some point in our lives. The inspirational, yet heart-warming journey chronicled in “Pizza With Jesus” demonstrates that our responses to life’s traumas and setbacks are as unique as a fingerprint, and that grief and loss do not follow a prescribed path or labeled steps. They are not one-size-fits-all.
