Virginia Wesleyan University Partners With Portfolium For Assessment and ePortfolios
SAN DIEGO (PRWEB) May 30, 2018 -- Virginia Wesleyan University (VWU) has chosen Portfolium’s assessment and ePortfolio software to convert assessment of student learning into proof of curriculum effectiveness, competencies and employability.
Portfolium’s ePortfolio and assessment capabilities are part of its larger Student Success platform which provides VWU students with the ability to leverage the high-impact practice of creating ePortfolios, while giving educators the ability to conduct direct, authentic assessments of student work samples in order to measure student learning outcomes. Portfolium’s assessment features include customizable rubrics, curriculum mapping and easy one-click reporting. VWU plans to utilize Portfolium to support their two specialty programs (the PORTfolio Program and Batten Honors College) and replace previous portfolio practices moving forward.
Thanks to Portfolium’s intuitive user interface and seamless integration with school’s current learning management system (LMS), Blackboard, VWU was able to activate Portfolium campuswide in just two weeks. In less than six months, more than one third of the entire student body had already started to build their ePortfolios which are free for faculty and students to use, forever.

The experience was black and white compared to previous implementations that took months of planning, development and execution.”
VWU aims to integrate use of Portfolium into VWU’s Career Services and Student Affairs programming. The university plans to connect campus experiences with intentional development and demonstration of competencies, while linking skills to specific internship and job opportunities for students and alumni.
