Defense contractors and businesses will learn about contracting opportunities set against the $137.2 billion Army budget request.

The Defense Leadership Forum today announced the 5th-annual Army Contracting Summit to be held from June 18-19, 2018 at the Westin Riverwalk in San Antonio, TX.

The Summit brings together key military commanders and contracting officials, small businesses, prime defense contractors, and federal government resource agencies to understand the military’s mission and contracting priorities, to educate businesses about contracting opportunities and procedures, and to help prime defense contractors identify prospective subcontractors. The Army FY18 budget request for $137.2 billion - and the contracts it will support - will be the main topic during dozens of presentations, panels, and matchmaking sessions.

“The 2018 Army Contracting Summit is extremely well-timed,” noted Howard Snow, Summit moderator and former Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Installations, Facilities, and Energy. “The entire $700 billion 2018 defense budget, including the Army budget, must be contracted out by September 30 of this year. We bring together the key stakeholders to identify the best defense solutions from industry and to accelerate the contracts needed to acquire and implement the solutions.”

The 2018 Army Contracting Summit will provide defense contractors and businesses nationwide with the latest information on:

  • Army Budgets
  • Army Innovation
  • Army Mission Priorities for Warfighting, Weapons, Facilities, Technology, Energy, and more
  • Army and Department of Defense Contracting Priorities
  • New Contracting Opportunities for Prime Defense Contractors and Subcontractors
  • Details on specific new military contracts in all areas of procurement, including but not limited to: tanks, helicopters, missiles, ammunition, vehicles, R&D, electronics systems, communications systems, information systems, information warfare, cyber defense, facilities, military construction, energy, intelligence, infrastructure modernization, military health and medicine, and much more.

In years prior, attendees have benefited from such highly-regarded speakers as Richard Kidd, the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army, and Congressman John Carter, Chairman of the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Subcommittee.

The Summit features exhibits from companies offering the latest in defense technologies and other defense solutions. Top sponsors include Bank of America - Merrill Lynch, Baker Hostetler LLP, Doosan-Bobcat, DripDrop ORS, Infinity Direct, Swift Engineering, Inc., Choctaw Global Services and Hilton Software.
