Fujitsu Honors Students at Richardson Independent School District (RISD) for Excellence in STEM

RICHARDSON, Texas (PRWEB) May 31, 2018 -- Fujitsu Network Communications, Inc. hosted the Excellence in Education breakfast celebration for the Richardson Independent School District (RISD) yesterday. The annual event honored the 2018 recipients for 14 different scholarships, including the brand new Fujitsu STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) Scholarships totaling $12,000.

To qualify for the Fujitsu STEM Scholarships, the winners met the following criteria, with awards based on a combination of financial need, academic performance and personal character.

  • - A minimum GPA of 3.0
  • - Studied four years of science, technology, engineering and/or math classes with B's or better
  • - Planning to enter a two or four-year college or university to major in a STEM field
  • - Two written recommendations from among student's STEM teachers, counselors, and extracurricular instructors.
  • - Essay required

Winners of the 2018 Fujitsu STEM Scholarships are named below.

  • - Adam Gallo, J.J, Pearce High School - $5,000
  • - Joshua Harris, J.J, Pearce High School - $5,000
  • - Alexcia Eackels, L.V. Berkner High School - $1,000
  • - Gabby Vega, Richardson High School - $1,000

All RISD scholarship recipients were recognized on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 by The Board of Directors of RISD Excellence in Education Foundation & Fujitsu at the Fujitsu headquarters in Richardson.
