WCI Data Solutions Amazon Web Services (AWS) Interest Group Grows to Over 400 Members
PLANO, Texas (PRWEB) May 31, 2018 -- WCI Data Solutions is celebrating bringing together over 400 members to the AWS on Tap Meetup group in the Dallas-Fort Worth region. AWS on Tap was launched by WCI in September 2017 with the mission of providing clarity to the complex world of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and bringing together like-minded individuals to discuss technical AWS topics. Over the last six months four meetings have been hosted, each with over 50 AWS enthusiasts in attendance. The events have garnered positive reviews of the technical education provided and have enabled networking opportunities to a group of specialists that rarely get to meet in person.
“The goal of this group was to bring together a bunch of people that are interested in using Amazon Web Services to it’s full potential and exploring topics that aren’t easily answered through Google searches,” explains Brandon Mullins, Director of Sales at WCI. “We realized after working with our clients what a hot topic AWS was and how much knowledge we had to share. Our goal is to find the questions about AWS that have yet to be answered and start the discussions in person rather than online.”
With a team of AWS cloud experts, WCI has hosted meetups on the topics: automated AMI builds with CodeBuild and CodePipeline, AWS Serverless Application Model (SAM), 2018 state of containers on AWS and how to architect like Amazon. The next meeting is scheduled for July 2018 and will focus on building efficient docker containers. The WCI AWS team is also actively taking recommendations of topics to explore for future events.
