Online Learning Consortium Opens Call for Submissions for 2018 Digital Learning Innovation Award Competition
NEWBURYPORT, Mass. (PRWEB) June 05, 2018 -- The Online Learning Consortium (OLC), the leading professional organization devoted to advancing the quality of digital teaching and learning worldwide, today announced it is now accepting submissions for the 2018 Digital Learning Innovation Award competition. Now in its third year, the #DLIAward competition recognizes exemplary higher education faculty-led teams and institutions for advancing student success through the adoption of digital courseware in undergraduate programs.
“The DLIAward program is keenly focused on recognizing those institutions and faculty teams that are truly being innovative, creative, and dedicated to advancing digital learning for all students,” said Kathleen Ives, D.M., chief executive officer and executive director of the Online Learning Consortium. “By providing this platform for more institutions to add their own digital courseware experiences to what is currently known in the field, we can better understand design features, implementation strategies and student-related outcomes.”
Submissions from accredited U.S.-based applicants will be accepted through July 31, 2018 in two categories: Institution and Faculty-Led Team. Eligible implementations are those that are already underway, sustained or in a revision cycle. In 2018, judges will be looking for DLIAward submissions that:
- Have improved student success among underrepresented student groups, especially among low income, minority and first-generation students;
- Clearly define a barrier and demonstrate how it was overcome through an effective use of digital courseware; and
- Demonstrate sustainability, scalability and replicability of the successful courseware implementation.
“The 2018 DLIAward program offers us the opportunity to discover and recognize instructive success stories that other institutions can consider as they strategize their own digital courseware initiatives,” said Jennifer Mathes, Ph.D., chief strategy officer for the Online Learning Consortium.
