MATE Inspiration for Innovation Launches its First Giving Campaign
MONTEREY, Calif. (PRWEB) June 06, 2018 -- MATE Inspiration for Innovation (MATE II) is pleased to announce its first Giving Campaign, where donors can help create life-changing opportunities for students around the world.
MATE II offers students the opportunity to apply what they are learning in the classroom and transferring that to solving real-world problems through its annual underwater robotics competition. Through the process of designing and creating their remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), students are encouraged to collaborate, think creatively, problem solve, build a sense of business know-how, and all the while develop their confidence and entrepreneurial spirit. In addition to inspiring students to develop as innovators, the competition exposes students to careers in science and engineering, connects them with experts working in the field and fuels their passion for STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).
According to the Highway 68 ROV Club (2017 USA competition), “It’s just amazing to see how similar we are because we all have common grounds. A lot of times it’s hard for people of different cultures to get along, but we all can just bond…over ROBOTICS! That’s what science does. It unifies like the metric system."
With a donor’s help, students from grade school to college can push themselves harder, realize their potential and experience this life-changing event. The MATE II Giving Campaign runs through June 13 with its sights on reaching $30,000. Donations will help give students access to: real-world challenges designed by expert engineers and scientists; a global community of learners to interact with; world-class facilities to operate their innovations and showcase their talents; and awards, prizes and recognition from professionals, their peers and parents.
