Mixed Roots Foundation Teams Up with SF Giants to Raise Awareness and Funds for the Adoption and Foster Care Community
SAN FRANCISCO (PRWEB) June 06, 2018 -- Media Advisory: Friday, June 22, 2018
What: -Nearly 1,500 adopted and foster youth will have the chance to see their first ever SF Giants baseball game at “Adoptee Night” on Friday, June 22, at 7:15 at AT&T Park. The US Women’s Olympic Hockey team sisters, Marissa Brandt, adopted as an infant
from South Korea and Hannah Brandt, will be featured on the field. Many adopted and foster youth have never known what it’s like to attend a baseball game. The experience of sharing a major league baseball game with caring foster and adoptive parents and
their families as well as would-be mentors can possibly turn into a more long relationship and create a sense of belonging for all who are involved. Youth and Families will receive a signature Adoptee Night Rally Towel as well as be seated together in an exclusive Adoptee Night section. There will also be fireworks after the game.
For the past 6 years, Mixed Roots Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization headquartered in Los Angeles, but was established and still has a regional office in San Francisco has hosted this annual “Adoptee Night” to promote foster care and adoption issues, with the hope of recruiting foster and adoptive parents. Mixed Roots Foundation has staged similar events nationally and globally supporting post-adoption resources, including mentoring, DNA testing, and unique scholarships and grants for youth and their families.
