Progressive Grocer Names 2018 Class of Top Women in Grocery
CHICAGO (PRWEB) June 14, 2018 -- Since 2007, Progressive Grocer has recognized the grocery industry’s female shining stars with its Top Women in Grocery honors. The extraordinary women honored this year comprise 83 Senior-Level Executives, 199 Rising Stars and 80 Store Managers. Each of the 362 women in the 2018 class play an integral role in the dynamic retail food industry, within both the retailer and supplier communities.
“For more than a decade, Progressive Grocer has been honoring women who have gone above and beyond to succeed in the grocery industry,” said Progressive Grocer Senior Editor Kat Martin. “And every year, the bar is raised when it comes to what it takes to be named a Top Woman in Grocery. These women are the best of the best in the industry and play an important role in making their businesses excel. They all are leaders to be emulated and offer an example of what is needed to make the industry better for those who work in it and for the customers.”
Top Women in Grocery, the retail industry’s premier women’s leadership awards platform, has been a pioneering force proclaiming a singular message of the advantageous role that empowered women play in an increasingly competitive marketplace. This year’s panel of judges evaluated more than 650 submissions, which included detailed accounts of how the honorees went above and beyond their core job responsibilities between April 2017 and March 1, 2018.
“As in every year, 2018's roster of Top Women in Grocery represents the very best across all facets of the industry,” said Progressive Grocer Managing Editor Bridget Goldschmidt. “In fact, since all of the applicants are so accomplished and so good at their jobs, it's always really difficult to choose the honorees, but we all enjoy reading about challenges overcome in the workplace and the successes described in the submissions. Congratulations to all whose stories were shared with us, and especially the ones whom we selected as Top Women.”
This year’s Top Women in Grocery winners are prominently featured in PG’s June 2018 issue, whose cover story, “Women in the Forefront,” can be viewed here.
All winners will be honored at a networking event and awards celebration that will take place Thursday, Nov. 8 at the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago. Highlights include a daytime leadership development program and a gala evening event.
