Mouse Swallows Top-Secret Microchip Creating Chaos in New Adventure Comedy Novel
LOS ANGELES (PRWEB) June 21, 2018 -- Mel Horowitz’s debut novel, “The Mouse That Snored: A Novel” (published by Lulu), seeks to show that optimism and persistence are fundamental values for a healthy society. In the novel, a young man unwittingly finds himself caught up in a plot of intrigue to help his country after he discovers a map to a remote island. While visiting Bermuda with a tour group, Humby Stanislaus stumbles across a bottle containing a map of an island, so he sends it to Washington, D.C. Deciding the island is a perfect spot for hiding a microchip with all of the U.S. military secrets, the government enlists Humby with the task of visiting the island and meeting the monarchy there. Sending with him a gift of a block of cheese, secretly holding the microchip, the plan is to later retrieve the microchip. The plan goes awry when, tired and disoriented, Humby passes out. Losing his credentials and the cheese, eaten by a hungry mouse, Humby has no idea the complications he has caused.
“Cybersecurity is a pervasive and universal world problem,” Horowitz says, adding that he thought it would be humorous to explore the idea of how something as small as a mouse could upset the government.
