Kerstin E. White Shares Her Story of ‘Little Girl Found’
MORRISTOWN, N.J. (PRWEB) June 20, 2018 -- Diagnosed with tuberculosis as a three-year-old, Kerstin E. White is separated from her family and endures a lengthy stay in a children’s sanatorium in southern Germany in the foothills of the Alps. Many years later, as an adult living in the U.S., she discovers the healing power of writing. In her memoir, “Little Girl Found: A German Woman’s Story of Tuberculosis, Trauma, and Healing” (published by Balboa Press), she shows how the beauty of nature, her spiritual connection to an artist, her resilience, and the grace of God guide her on her healing journey. Her trauma psychotherapy leads her to a dramatic return to the sanatorium for the first time in more than 30 years.
In the first part of the book, White writes from her perspective as a little girl to capture her experiences in the sanatorium. In the second part, she shifts to the adult voice to reveal her therapeutic process.
“The dual perspective from the point of view of the child and the adult is very moving and captivating,” White states. “My writing is poetic and descriptive, and helps the reader experience the world of the child that is traumatic and enchanting at the same time.”
Spanning the past and present, her life in Germany and the U.S., White writes about her therapeutic modalities and healing techniques, sandplay therapy, expressive writing, and energy work. All these help her to heal her childhood wounds and discover her faith in God.
