Advantage Credit Counseling Service, Inc. Commemorates 50 Years Of Service
PITTSBURGH (PRWEB) June 20, 2018 -- Founded in 1968 by a group of Pittsburgh retailers, the agency was originally established as Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Western Pennsylvania with the mission to help consumers pay off their debt, learn money management skills and how to use credit responsibly.
Over the past 50 years, the agency has evolved into a community resource for financial wellness. The agency helps consumers at various points in their financial life, whether they are struggling with debt, building their credit, preparing for home ownership or trying to save their home from foreclosure. The counseling services the agency provides gives consumers a resource that helps them to achieve their financial goals. Agency counselors use a personal approach during counseling sessions, focusing on the individual goals of the client they are working with.
Advantage provides consumers with a variety of ways to access counseling services. In person appointments are available at the agency’s five office locations. Additionally, counseling can be conducted over the phone or through the agency’s online counseling system. Advantage also offers virtual counseling using a web based meeting application.
After completing a counseling session with one of the agency’s counselors, the consumer gains a better understanding of where their money is going and their spending patterns. The consumer receives a budget analysis and action plan that they can use as a guideline to follow. The agency never charges for its credit counseling services and counselors will follow up with the consumer to see how they are progressing on the financial goals identified during the session.
Advantage CCS currently has a staff of 25 dedicated and hardworking employees who work individually with consumers to help them better understand their current financial situation and provide solutions to help them get out of debt or improve their financial well-being. Last year, the agency counseled more than 9,000 consumers and helped consumers repay more than $11,000,000 in unsecured debt.
“The impact the agency has on the community over the past 50 years is immeasurable. Not only does the agency help consumers deal with their debt issues, the agency also helps consumers achieve financial goals, such as better money management, increasing savings and owning a home,” said Mary Loftus, Co-President/Co-CEO of Advantage CCS.
“Over the past 50 years, Advantage CCS has become a leader in the debt management services industry. The agency uses cutting edge technology to benefit our clients and the community we serve. Our online services allows consumers to participate in a credit counseling session completely online,” said Gary Vollmer, Co-President/Co-CEO of Advantage CCS.
To mark the agency’s 50th Anniversary, June 17th is Advantage Credit Counseling Service Day in the City of Pittsburgh.
