A 501(c)(3) organization, ICMCP was launched in 2014 to help bridge the ‘great minority cyber divide' resulting from the ongoing under-representation of women and other minorities in the fast-growing field of cybersecurity. Through partnerships and support from organizations like Conventus Corporation, ICMCP aims to tackle this divide with scholarship opportunities, technical training programs, mentoring and networking programs targeting women and other major minority groups' cybersecurity professionals worldwide.
“We at Conventus believe great progress can be made one person at a time, and are pleased to provide support for professional development through this scholarship. We’re proud to work with such a stellar organization that addresses the diversity gap with initiatives to attract, retain and promote women and minorities in the cyber landscape,” said Sarah Isaacs, Managing Partner at Conventus.
Devon Bryan, Founder of ICMCP, commented, “It is encouraging to have companies like Conventus working with ICMCP to help advance women and minorities in cybersecurity.” Mr. Bryan continued, "We commend Sarah and Conventus for their commitment to helping gifted female and minority youth and professionals progress in the cybersecurity field. Their dedication and commitment to advancing these underrepresented talent bases is admirable and will not only make opportunities available for all students but ultimately strengthen the security of our nation."
The scholarship award will be presented at ICMCP’s 3rd Annual National Conference of Minority Cybersecurity Professionals in Atlanta, Georgia on September 17-19.
