Kay Das’s New Book “Memoirs of a Surgeon in World War II: From Humble Beginnings to War Hero” is a Biography that Tells a Man’s Riveting Moments of Joy and Sorrows
IRVINE, Calif. (PRWEB) June 28, 2018 -- Kay Das, an insightful author and writer, has completed his new book “Memoirs of a Surgeon in World War II: From Humble Beginnings to War Hero”: a meandering journey of a man’s circumstances of pursuit for aspirations, love and literature, the unexpected toils of being drafted to war, and the return to a forsaken homeland.
Author Das shows a deeper side to war veterans and their efforts of sacrificing personal gains for the welfare of the future: “We were at Cancello where I heard a broadcast from Winston Churchill, the wartime prime minister of Great Britain, in which he boasted that he had not become the first minister of His Majesty to preside over the liquidation of the British Empire. This hurt me to my heart, and in a letter to my dear one in India, I opened my heart in anger and frustration about this broadcast. It was caught by the censors and was sent to the CO for my explanation. So one morning, I was requested to present myself at the office of Colonel Zscherpel who, with a smile, showed me the letter but appeared to be most sympathetic. He asked me to reply that there was no implication of insult to the great man of war, but it was only an expression of sadness. After all, he was also an Indian with probably the same feelings as mine in his heart.”
Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Kay Das’s moving tale novel also presents wonderful anecdotes—snapshots of humane perspectives that, if combined, create a visual of the events of World War II and its impact on history and society.
