Trimble Transportation CTO Timothy Leonard Will Speak at Morgan Stanley’s Canadian Emerging Tech Conference
TORONTO (PRWEB) June 21, 2018 -- Trimble Transportation CTO Timothy Leonard will speak today at the Morgan Stanley “Canadian Emerging Tech Conference” in Toronto. The event, which will take place at the MaRS Discovery District, is exclusive to Morgan Stanley investors, and it will feature well-known technology leaders across a variety of industries.
Leonard will speak about how technology is helping solve some of the issues that the transportation and logistics industry is currently facing like the driver shortage and the capacity crunch. And while technology is important for solving today’s problems, it will be even more important for moving the industry forward and into the future.
“A lot of times, technology developers are building solutions to solve problems, but often they don’t understand what those problems are,” Leonard said. “There’s not that direct connection with the business aspect of the industry and the technology engineering aspect, yet. Once we cross the bridge of the business side and the technology side working more closely, we will begin to see the full potential of how technology can solve more issues facing the transportation and logistics industry.”
Leonard joins a panel discussion of leading technology companies to discuss the “Future of Transportation.” His counterparts in the discussion include Andrew Macdonald, vice president and regional general manager of Asia-Pacific at Uber, and Colin Sutherland, EVP of sales and marketing at Geotab, a telematics company.
