Jack and Jill of America Foundation Elects New Board Members
WASHINGTON, D.C. (PRWEB) June 25, 2018 -- On Saturday, June 2, 2018, Jack and Jill of America Foundation held its Annual Meeting in Boston, MA to celebrate the Foundation’s accomplishments, kickoff its fiscal year, and vote on candidates to the 2018-2019 Board of Trustees. Building on the Foundation’s 50 years of success the members voted to re-elect Foundation Officers – Charles Noble as President, Dr. Iclima “Icy” Fergus Rowe as Vice President, Hope Knight as Secretary. In addition to the 18 existing board members who will continue their service, 4 new community board members were added. New members include:
Dr. Aeva Gaymon-Doomes of Washington, D.C. is a board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist. A graduate of Spelman College and Howard University College of Medicine, Dr. Gaymon-Doomes completed both her residency and fellowship at The University of Maryland Medical Center / Sheppard Pratt Hospital program. She is the co-principal of the “Thrive Mindfulness Project” and as an advocate for overall mental wellness for Children, Dr. Gaymon-Doomes has been featured on NBC 4, Essence, and Time Magazine.
Gladys Henderson of Pearland, Texas is an Executive Analyst in the Exploration Integration and Science Directorate at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration/Johnson Space Center. Gladys holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Prairie View A&M University. She has been an unwavering member of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. for twenty-three (23) years serving at all levels of the organization (chapter, regional, national) including two terms as the National Program Director.
Justin Tanner of Atlanta, Georgia currently is the Director of Government Affairs for Verizon’s Southeast, South Central, and Great Lakes, State Government Affairs team. Before joining Verizon, Justin acquired a broad range of public policy, regulatory, and external affairs experience as Executive Director of the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus, Inc., a White House appointee under President Obama’s Administration, and a political appointee in Mayor Kasim Reed’s Office. Justin received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Howard University and a J.D. from Vanderbilt University.
Anthony Trotman of Pineville, North Carolina is an accomplished Health and Human Services executive administration who serves as the Assistant County Manager for Mecklenburg County. Prior to joining the Mecklenburg County Office, he served as the Director of the Department of Job and Family Services for Franklin County, Ohio. Anthony, a 10-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, earned a bachelor’s degree in management from Bellevue University and a master’s degree in health services administration from Central Michigan University.
The Jack and Jill of America Foundation is the philanthropic partner of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. which consists of over 200 chapters throughout the United States.
