MDI Group Promotes Suzy Schmitt to Executive Director of HR/Staff Development
ATLANTA (PRWEB) June 28, 2018 -- MDI Group, leading national IT staffing and recruiting firm, is excited to announce the promotion of Suzy Schmitt to Executive Director of HR/Staff Development. In this role, Suzy will be responsible for handling all internal and external HR-related initiatives, as well as continuing to drive the company’s strategic objective of hiring, retaining and developing talent.
Suzy came to MDI in 2011 as a Branch Recruiter. After two years, she transitioned to the corporate side of the organization, first as a Corporate Recruiter and then moving into the role of Manager of Talent Acquisition and Development. Suzy has been particularly successful in building an employee development program from the ground up as well as streamlining the hiring process for internal employees.
The role of Executive Director of HR/Staff Development is a new position, created in response to a growing need for strategic alignment in the HR function. The role removes existing HR siloes between internal employees and external consultants, defining a more consistent direction for hiring initiatives, benefits administration, legal issues, and more. In this role, Suzy and her team will continue work closely with regional Managing Directors to ensure all internal positions are successfully filled, onboarded, and trained, and that each branch has the resources and tools they need to reinforce these efforts.
Since her promotion, Suzy has already been able to completely overhaul the internal hiring process, removing obstacles in the decision-making process and enabling the leadership team to hire more efficiently and effectively. Furthermore, changes to MDI’s training and development program will allow the company to ramp up new hires at a more successful rate.
“I believe you have to have a passion for what you do, and I’m incredibly grateful to work for a company that has supported my career path, listened to my vision, and given me the opportunity to do what I love,” comments Suzy. “MDI is a company where you can come in at the ground level, share your ideas, and grow your career in whichever direction you desire. As a woman-owned company, it’s an exciting and engaging place to be working. Ella has been very collaborative and will get behind the ideas you truly believe in, but it starts with looking inward every day and asking yourself, ‘Am I challenging myself and others? Am I leading with good intent, and do I have the company’s strategic focus in mind?’”
“I’m excited to see how Suzy continues to grow in her career at MDI,” comments Ella Koscik, owner and CEO at MDI Group. “She is very creative and driven, and her vision for this new role will help solidify our company’s best practices and streamline our processes. We’re big believers in each person doing one or two things extremely well, rather than spreading our talents too thin. Suzy’s promotion helps her – and other leaders at MDI – achieve this.”
