Green Roads Applauds U.S. Senate Passage of Farm Bill That Legalizes Hemp
DAVIE, Fla. (PRWEB) June 30, 2018 -- With so many health and wellness benefits derived from products made with hemp, trailblazing Green Roads commends those who introduced and championed the $867 billion Farm Bill legislation last evening resulting in the robust vote of 86-11. By legalizing hemp as an agricultural commodity and removing it from the federal list of controlled substances, it breaks through once-impermeable barriers that have prevented relief for those living with a variety of health conditions since 1937.
Green Roads, an industry pioneer that is ranked as one of the top 10 CBD hemp brands in the country by Forbes [2017], continues to set the gold standard for developing and selling pharmacist-formulated hemp products. Founded by Arby Barroso and licensed compound pharmacist Laura Baldwin Fuentes in 2012, Green Roads is a leading company in the CBD space. The company, employing 70 employees, offers more than 50 products, including ingestibles, sublinguals, vape, and topicals with formulas using high quality 99.9% pure cannabidiol and natural ingredients. To ensure that each new product batch is “clean” -- without pesticides, solvents, metals or unnatural substances --all products are tested by EVIO, a third-party lab that has ISO 17025 accreditation.
“Americans have long been seeking safe, natural alternatives for healing, and this monumental legislation demonstrates that our legislators are now aware of just how safe hemp truly is,” said Green Roads Co-Founder Laura Baldwin Fuentes, who successfully transitioned from 25+ years in the traditional pharmaceutical world into pioneering product research, development and formulation in the Hemp Industry for the past five years. On behalf of Green Roads, Fuentes is working closely with the University of Miami and University of Florida on a variety of related agricultural studies.
“This is a game-changing day for our industry, as it validates what we at Green Roads have been advocating for since we began our journey,” notes Green Roads Co-Founder & Chief Evangelist Barroso. “Knowing that all CBD products are not the same, we welcome this legislative action as it legitimizes the CBD industry so that regulations can be put in place to ensure consumers are being protected.”
For his working knowledge, positioning in this burgeoning industry and his “educate not medicate” mission, Barroso was appointed the Chair of the Medical Marijuana Advisory Board by the board of Broward County Commissioners. The only county advisory board of its kind in the state of Florida advises and make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners for improving operations and services for growing, processing, and selling medical marijuana for qualified patients and users. It obtains information concerning medical marijuana and related matters within Broward County, provides recommendations regarding regulations and fees related to medical marijuana treatment centers and develop programs to educate the citizens as to the benefits and disadvantages of the use of medical marijuana.
“More than just the health benefits, legitimizing the industry creates new jobs in the farming community and growth of the new industries that support the industry, including building and construction, lab testing facilities, retailer and DME/HME design and packaging, marketing, marketing channels, feed for cows,” adds Barroso. “Hemp was well positioned to be the first billion-dollar crop in the U.S. before the implications of the U.S. government’s Marijuana Tax Act [H.R. 6385] shut it down in 1937. The taxation forced CBD product developers to import from other countries. Now the U.S. will realize the vision reaping benefits on so many levels.”
