Antil's Cajun Novel Sequel Opines Cosby Boudoir Tapes
NEW ORLEANS (PRWEB) July 02, 2018 -- Captain Gabe Jordan, retired, is the luminous black army veteran in One More Last Dance. The character has been lauded by critics as being filled with insights. A sequel (yet untitled) will be an absorbing mystery that celebrates New Orleans' intercultural respect for each other. Author Jerome Mark Antil draws Gabe's voice from his own friend of fifty years, an African American. A friend who pulled his car over on the busy highway one time just to demonstrate how Antil could tell if the jazz on the radio was Count Basie - simply by listening for the strum of a rhythm guitar. "Only Basie and Miller used a rhythm guitar," he would say. Antil's Gabe won't say or do anything Antil's real friend wouldn't say or do. In the drama of book two, an actual life threat experienced by the author is model for a subplot. In defending his life, Captain Gabriel Jordan is charged with second degree murder. As an aside to his attorney, Gabe likens his fatalistic attitude to blacks who he says most generally assume there's a likelihood they will be lynched. Antil's fictionalized mention of Cosby's last laugh in the sequel was inspired by a roast he had attended.
The Revised Edition of One More Last Dance will be out on Labor Day. The yet untitled sequel will be released by Spring 2019.
