SANTA BARBARA, Calif., July 10, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Service Objects, the leading provider of real-time global contact validation solutions, today announced it has been certified by the European Union and U.S. Department of Commerce under the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework. Privacy Shield requires businesses to comply with EU data protection requirements when transferring personal data from the EU to the United States during transatlantic commerce.
Service Objects completed the process to align its privacy policies with the Privacy Shield requirements and received self-certification in July 2018. By adopting the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework, Service Objects demonstrates its commitment to maintaining the highest privacy and security standards around the collection, use and retention of personal information for its worldwide customer base.
The Privacy Shield Principles lay out a set of requirements governing participating organizations' use and treatment of personal data received from the EU under the Framework as well as the access and recourse mechanisms that participants must provide to individuals in the EU. Once an organization publicly commits to comply with the Privacy Shield Principles, that commitment is enforceable under U.S. law.
"Service Objects recognizes that in today's digital world, securing and protecting our customers' data has never been more important," said Geoff Grow, CEO and Founder, Service Objects. "We are proud to show our commitment to data protection by participating in the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework. With over 16 years' experience in implementing data quality best practices, we recognize the need to have solid data protection policies in place as the standard for all clients, not just those located in the EU."
