Haskell Takes Classroom Furniture From Squeaky and Heavy to Comfortable and Mobile
BALA CYNWYD, Pa. (PRWEB) July 13, 2018 -- Haskell, a leading manufacturer of furniture for K-12, higher education, government and corporations, announced the completed furniture installation for the winner of its Incredible Classroom Makeover Contest. Justine Mackinnon’s class at West Street School in Southbridge, MA has a new classroom.
Haskell kicked off the contest by allowing any K-12 school or University in the United States to submit a classroom photo. From 125+ entries, 10 finalists were chosen by the Haskell team. Once finalists were announced, it was up to the educators to acquire votes for their classroom.
Voting took place over the course of six weeks to try to even the playing field for the smaller schools. While the race was neck and neck for most of the contest, after over 14,000 votes were tallied, West Street School pulled out the win.
"Winning the Incredible Classroom Makeover Contest is more than just a new set of desks and chairs for our classroom,” said Mackinnon. “By providing us with modern and flexible seating, Haskell Office is giving us the opportunity to learn and grow in ways not possible with the limited seating we grew used to. My students are able to work collaboratively more easily, ultimately preparing them for higher education and the work force. Plus, the students who need more movement in their day are able to think critically while also meeting their physical needs. Additionally, the new furniture promotes healthier habits rather than a sedentary lifestyle. Winning the Incredible Classroom Makeover Contest has provided my students with a renewed love for learning."
“We experienced a tremendous number of submissions and votes” said Alan Robins, CEO, Haskell. “This contest highlights how many educators are embracing the 21st Century Classroom. Haskell is committed to the public sector. Look for Haskell to continue extending future promotions/contests like this to support the success of our educators, students, administrators and communities.”
