Dame Dr. Effie Chow, known affectionately as the Mother of American Qigong, is a miracle worker who brings restorative health to people suffering from the worst possible maladies.

Visiting Sharon Kleyne’s internationally syndicated radio program, The Sharon Kleyne Hour Water Life Science®/Nature’s Pharma®, The Power of Water® & Your Health sponsored by Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® on VoiceAmerica and World Talk Radio, Chow shared an example of her recent work.

“I traveled far to work with a severe stroke case,” Chow began. “The woman was debilitated, emaciated, weak, had poor balance and was only drinking two glasses of water a day. For almost three years, she had to be lifted in and out of her bed. I started her out with six 10-ounce glasses of water a day (building her up to ten glasses a day),” Chow explained, “Her skin, which had been very dry, almost immediately got better coloring and texture. I taught her to breathe deeply, the Qigong way. Her energy increased, and she managed to get off her bed on her own. This was all accomplished on my first visit.”

“Water,” added Kleyne, “is the essential element of health. Water is our life. Without water you cannot live.” Kleyne asked Chow to share the story of how she got started as a healer and teacher.

“That’s a long history!” laughed Chow. “I was fortunate to grow up with traditional Chinese medicine concepts in practice. I witnessed many, many miracles. When I grew up, we didn’t have the incredible environmental crisis we face now with the dryness of the atmosphere and all the chemicals in the air. Now achieving better health is a big problem due to the changing climate.”

Kleyne noted that Chow has also performed miracles with people trapped by addiction. Chow has worked extensively with people and veterans suffering from PTSD, Opioid, alcohol and smoke addictions. Chow related the story of how she was approached by a veteran who told her, “I’ve been looking for 30 years to find my wholeness, and I found it in one weekend workshop with you.”

Chow believes in a good, healthy life in which people feel peaceful, healthy and fulfilled. “Everything starts with yourself,” said Chow, “and your mind is the greatest healer. Qigong is not a religion, but it teaches us to supercharge the body with oxygen. It is a practice that makes the most of our physical, emotional and spiritual power.” Chow concluded by explaining that “we are a microcosm. There is no separation in existence. Every organ, every cell, is a tiny universe.”

Kleyne urges everybody that wants to live a healthier lifestyle to do five things:

1. Learn to breathe deeply and properly
2. Drink at least 10 glasses of water a day
3. Nutrition that is best for you
4. Regularly perform moderate exercise
5. Learn to sleep well with planet Earth
